U.S. stocks waver at open; all eyes on Yellen


 
NEW YORK, MarketWatch (15/11) -- U.S. stocks wobbled between small gains and losses on Thursday, trading near the flatline after the prior session's strong advance. Investors are focused on an upcoming confirmation hearing for Federal Reserve chair nominee Janet Yellen, and they're also digesting a weaker-than-expected jobless claims. The S&P 500 was last up less than 1 point to 1,783, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 6 points to 15,816. The Nasdaq Composite was last down 8 points, or 0.2%, to 3,957.
