Bloomberg (29/10) - Saham AS naik, meninggalkan Indeks Standard & Poor 500 dan bersiap untuk kenaikan tahunan terbaik sejak 2003, sejalan data ekonomi yang lemah dari perkiraan memicu taruhan Federal Reserve akan mempertahankan stimulus pada pertemuannya.

The S & P 500 naik 0,1 persen menjadi 1,762.15 pada pukul 4 pm di New York. Indeks itu telah menguat 23,6 persen pada tahun ini, yang akan menjadi keuntungan tahunan lonjakan terbaik sebesar 26,4 persen sejak tahun 2003. Indeks Dow Jones Industrial Average turun 1,09 poin, atau kurang dari 0,1 persen, ke level 15,569.19.

Bloomberg (29/10) -- U.S. stocks rose, leaving the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index poised for the best annual gain since 2003, as weaker-than-forecast economic data fueled bets the Federal Reserve will maintain stimulus at its meeting.

The S&P 500 rose 0.1 percent to 1,762.15 at 4 p.m. in New York. The gauge has rallied 23.6 percent this year, which would be the best annual gain since a 26.4 percent surge in 2003. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1.09 points, or less than 0.1 percent, to 15,569.19.

The S&P 500 rallied 0.9 percent last week for its third straight weekly gain, as signs of slower economic recovery fueled bets the Fed will wait until March before scaling back bond purchases. The gauge has jumped 4.8 percent this month as lawmakers agreed to raise the government’s borrowing limit.

WTI Drops First Time in Three Days as Discount to Brent Widens

Bloomberg (28/10) -- West Texas Intermediate oil fell for the first time in three days as New York crude’s discount to London-traded Brent futures widened.

Futures slid as much as 0.4 percent in New York. WTI capped a 2.9 percent decline last week, the most in five weeks, as rising production boosted inventories in the U.S.

Iraq’s crude exports last month dropped to 62.1 million barrels amid maintenance, Asim Jihad, a spokesman for the oil ministry, said in an e-mail yesterday.

WTI for December delivery fell as much as 34 cents to $97.51 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It was at $97.59 at 11:08 a.m. Sydney time. The contract rose 0.8 percent to $97.85 on Oct. 25, trimming its weekly decline. The volume of all futures traded was about 22 percent below the 100-day average.

Brent for December settlement gained 5 cents to $106.98 a barrel on the London-based ICE Futures Europe exchange. The European benchmark crude was at a premium of $9.42 to WTI futures, up from $9.08 on Oct. 25.
