Bloomberg (26/11) -- U.S. stocks
fluctuated, with the Standard & Poor’s 500 Index erasing earlier
gains after reaching an all-time high, as Iran agreed to limit its
nuclear program.
 Alcoa Inc. climbed 4.3 percent and Caterpillar Inc. rose 2.2 percent after analysts recommended buying the shares. An index of airlines reached an almost seven-year high as crude slid. Schlumberger Ltd. and Noble Corp. declined more than 2.7 percent, pacing losses among energy shares. The S&P 500 slipped 0.1 percent to 1,8036.11 at 3:10 p.m. in New York after earlier adding as much as 0.2 percent. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 14.58 points, or 0.1 percent, to 16,079.35. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose 0.2 percent to 3,999.08 after earlier surpassing 4,000 for the first time since September 2000. Trading in S&P 500 stocks was 9.6 percent below the 30-day average at this time of the day. |
