U.S.
stocks fluctuated as energy companies gained amid a rebound in crude,
while quarterly results from Alcoa Inc. and Bed Bath & Beyond Inc.
disappointed investors.

retailers down after lower-than-estimated earnings and outlook.
Halliburton Co. and Anadarko Petroleum Corp. added more than 3.2 percent
as oil rose after its biggest drop in two months.
The
Standard & Poor™s 500 Index rose 0.1 percent to 2,084.27 at 12:26
